We have performed case studies on plasma transport across the
low-latitude boundary layer using the WIND and GEOTAIL data.
We have found that plasma in the plasma sheet adjacent to the
dusk flank shows cold and dense status several hours after the
northward turning of the interplanetary magnetic field. We will
discuss that plasma vortices observed in the dusk flank play
an important role in the plasma transport from the solar wind
to the dusk magnetotail flank.
