The estimation of the geometry of the magnetic flux ropes by using flux rope models is very effective method for clarifying the physical relationship between the interplanetary magnetic clouds and solar magnetic fields. In this presentation, we apply this analysis method to the magnetic flux rope event observed by the ACE spacecraft on April 16/17, 1999. In estimating the geometry of the flux rope, we first applied a constant alpha force-free cylindrical model including self-similar expansion to the hourly averaged interplanetary magnetic field and plasma data. We also apply the torus model, that is one of the more realistic models, and discuss the validity of its use.
