We suggest two modifications to the various versions of the Lax
Wendroff method for advancing flow equations in time. The first
would in effect double the Courant limit which states that the
time step, delta-t, and spatial step, delta-x, must be related
to the local flow velocity V by delta-x >= V delta-t. The
second modification eliminates this restriction entirely. We
call the combination of these modifications, which should probably
be used in tandem, the "Cubic Forward Jump'' method (CFJ).
